Inspired by Julia's Cameron's acclaimed book, The Artist's Way, this intensive 10-Week course supports creatives in the cultivation of a personal practice and the production of original content toward each individual's artistic goal. Using tools, activities, and exercises we move through blocks and limiting beliefs, while fostering a community of accountability and inspiration.
This workshop integrates the practices of Mindfulness, Visualization, Sense Memory, Creative Writing Practices, The Work, and Active Imagination, among other things. Each participant is asked to set a personal, creative intention for themselves throughout the process. Supplemental texts and homework will be assigned.
The simple act of putting pen to paper engages our subconscious and opens a pathway through which we mine for gems. In this 4-week writing workshop, inspired by Natalie Goldberg's groundbreaking book, Writing Down The Bones, we move through creative blocks and are guided past the critical mind into a flow state. Through a series of mindfulness exercises and writing prompts, we free the writer within ourselves and watch as words arrive to explore the depth of our capacity to create on the page.
This weekend workshop was created to jumpstart your creativity and help you breakthrough blocks. We open the weekend with a discussion of what we want to create. Through a series of conversations, writing prompts and activities, we go beyond the mind and produce work. The workshop closes with the clarification of your path and tools for accessing inspiration on your own.
This is a performance based workshop and the purpose of it is to connect you with being in your body and making work from that place. Activities and exercises include writing prompts, voice and breathwork, and embodied movement.
If you hear a voice within you say, ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint.
